 Know all men by these presents that we Ambrose Cobb & Moses Scott......all of the State of North Carolina & County of Lincoln are held and firmly bound unto Alexander Martin, Esq. Governor, and in the sum of Three Hundred Pounds..?.. for which payment well and truly to be made and done, we bind ourselves one and each of our heirs, executors, and administrators, jointly and ... ... by these presents sealed with our seals and dated this Eighteenth Day of March A.D. 1783. The condition of the above obligation which that whereas the above bound Ambrose Cobb, hath this day obtained a License of Marriage to be solemnized between him and Rachael Black of said County. Now if it shall appear at any future time hereafter that there is a just cause to obstruct the said marriage then the above obligation to be void, otherwise to remain in full force and virtue.
