DONALD R. COURTNEY
Donald Ray Courtney, 21, of Sanders died Nov. 17, 1976, at Sparta
Standard Service Station, of a stab wound. Courtney was born in
Madison, Ind on Jan. 2, 1955 to Larry Courtney and the late Louise
Aldridge Ford. He attended Carroll Co. High. He served in the U.S.
Navy and was a member of the Sanders Baptist Church. Courtney was
married to the former Betty Jo Cobb, on Jan. 18, 1973 in Carrollton.
The couple has two sons, Donald Ray Courtney, Jr., age 3, and Timothy
Scott Courtney, age 1.

In addition to his wife and children, He is survived by his father, Larry
Courtney of Madison, Ind., one sister, Bonnie Smith of Sparta, Ky., and
his two grandmothers, Mrs. Gertie Aldridge of Sanders and Mrs. Addie
Francher. His mother, Mrs. Louise Ford and his grandfather, Raymond
Aldridge, preceded him in death, both in Feb. of this year.

Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Cecil Ellison on Nov. 20 at
the Graham-Dunn Funeral Home. Burial was at the Carrollton I.O.O.F.
Cemetery. Pallbearers were Roger Kinman, Bill Dermon, Bobby Ping,
Bill Chipman, James Goola, and Fred Gola. Graveside military services
were also conducted on Nov. 20 by Navy personnel from Louisville.
