I remember some 25 years ago going to mountain Home Ark, my aunt and uncle owned the Royal motel on route 5 just 1 mile from the ferry. My Grandparents lived in mountain Home also. They took me at the age of about 16 to a store of some kind,thats when I saw my first carvings of Jr cobbs. My whole family owns pieces of his, mostly carvings of faces on branches. I have been left out of the family tree. I am a daughter no one in ROY LACY COBB SR. family wants to claim. I am either his fathers daughter John Cobb whom I loved dearly or I am Roy's daughter born to someone he raped in between Tina and Johnny being born. Either way I have the Cobb blood in me. Seems no one will tell the truth. John's daughters say I belong to John Cobb but Roy says I am his. Either way I wanted to put my name out here. God only knows why. Maybe in case my children want this in the future.

I came across your site while researching McHargue ancestors. Great Job! Your info on my family stops, however, at James McHargue b. 12/10/1835(Son of Samuel McHargue II & Mary DeWeese)James was married to Eliza Kidwell Nov 1857 Corbin, Knox Co., KY. 1880 census shows they lived in Laurel, KY at the time of the census. Hesse Sasser was my great uncle on my Mothers side (Effie Lucinda Sasser/Bollinger was my grandmother,and his almost baby sister who was the mother of my mother) Uncle Hesse, as I called him was one of my favorite uncles as a child. My memories of him are good. I really loved being around him.There seemed to be a great deal of mystery and speculation to where he had been after WWI and into the 50's. I have heard many and do not know which are true. My grandmother loved him a great deal as he lived with her towards the end of his life.
