My mothers name was spelt Reatha. No is no mention of Uncle Mart. He was the eldest of William and Zylpia Cox. All of their children are deceased except for William w. Cox (Billy) My mom (Reatha Cox Moore passed away on 8/1/1990. My Father Willie (Will) Moore passed away on 12/21/1999. They had four children. Joyce Sue who married Charles Flint, Donald Moore, married Dorothy Sancrant, Connie, Married Curtis Cole. Gloria, married Bruce Sattler. Joyce & Charles Flint has four children, Charles, Lisa, Cheryl & Kerry. Donald Moore, has three sons, Donald II, Daryl, Jason Moore. Connie Cole has four children, Curtis, Michelle, Kevin & Jeff. Gloria Sattler has one son, John Bruce Sattler.

I am trying to track down the Asher side of my lineage. My Great-Grandmother was Nell Asher, and I believe I have back-tracked her through census records to an Eli Asher, her grandfater. I can find him in a couple of mid-1800's census records. He was born in Kentucky in about 1820. In the 1880 census, where he lists father's place of birth, he lists "Ireland." His mother is listed as Kentucky. Any chance that this Eli could be the Eli listed as a son of Dillon on your page? It looks like that family was in kentucky at the right time, but Dillon doesn't look Irish... Anyone else have other links on Ashers? It certainly doesn't seem to be a common Irish surname.

Great site. I noticed that Jimmy Francis Sasser married Genene Elizabeth Serviere. Genene's father was Alphon(s) Serviere. Alphon(s)'s father was Joseph Serviere and his grandfather was also named Alphons Serviere. The original (oldest) Alphons Serviere is my great-great grandfather. I know a lot about his Civil War service and his life. My family is interested in knowing more about the Serviere family tree. Let me know if you have any contacts within the Serviere family that is interested in geneology. Thank you.

Martha and Jerry (Green) Sams are my GreatGrandparents, Otis Sams and Allie Smith-Sams are my Grandparents and my Father is Gilbert Tolman Sams. I was very excited to see the information on your web page! I did find one thing that is not correct. Under children of Otis and Allie Sams you have Edward Pearl listed as being born in 1942. He was born in 1952 There were 9 children. With my Aunt Mary Katherine who died as an infant and is also buried in the Hiram Smith cemetary. My Grandparents were married in 1942 with my Uncle Casey being the first born followed by my Father (Gilbert) in 1946. Otis was in the Army from 42 to 46. After my dad was my Aunt Sylvia, Aunt Mary, Uncle Jerry, Aunt Ruby, Uncle E.J. (Edward), Uncle Jr. (Otis Jr)then Uncle Frank (Milton). Otis and Allie had 17 grandchildren and have now 11 greatgrandchildren. Sadly my father died in August of 2003. My Mother (Rita Ann Herrera-Sams)died the year before on the same day as my Granny (Allie) All are in the Hiram Smith cemetary. Hiram and Jane Smith are Allies' Parents. I am very interested in learning more of the Sams side of my family. You see Otis was the baby and Jerry (GGranddad) died when he was around 17, Martha (GGranny) lived with them for a time while they were still in KY. Besides knowing my Great Aunt Besse, I really never knew any of the other siblings. There was a Sams family reunion we attended where I met a few of my Pa's sisters, but I was very young and don't remember a lot about them. Thank you for the info on your page. Hi again, After checking the censuses again, I found that I read the age of John wrong and he is 38 not 36, so the 1822 date is right. Also I found another 8 year old in Marion County, Kentucky in 1860 with Charley Cobb, 39, and Catherine, 41, sons being William,16, George, 14, Thomas, 11, Benjamin, 9, and John, age 8. So I do not know which John I could have yet. I am sending for his death certificate in hopes of a good clue.

Hi, Found your web page today. I am enjoying browsing through the pages. I wish I could do as well on a web page. I am researching for my friend, Lee Cobb. His ancestor is John Nathan Cobb born Jan. 10, 1852 in Kentucky. I think I have found him on an 1860 census as an 8 year old with the following people. John Cobb, age 36, a farmer born in Kentucky, his wife, Larania, age 36, born Tennessee. There are 9 children, Samuel, 1843, Elizabeth, 1845, Joseph, 1847, James, 1849, John, 1852, William, 1854, Radford, 1857, Stephen and Charles, 1860. This family fits with your John and Lurany's list of descendants. The only difference being the year of birth for John son of Sam and Kiziah. The census says he is 36 which would make the birth year of John 1824, if the census is right. Do you think that I am right about the connections? I have not found another 8 year old John in Kentucky censuses. John Nathan Cobb married Belinda Isabella Moss on December 8, 1876 in Lander County, Nevada. He died July 10, 1892 in Eureka County, Nevada. He lived in Genoa, Douglas County, Nevada in 1880 with his wife and first 2 children and was an engineer on the railroad. He had 6 children, all born and raised in Nevada. Thanks for any input! Marcia
