Eve Selis

With over 50 people in the house, the anticipation for Eve Selis' 2nd appearance at Meeting Grace was at an all-time high. Days away from a brand new CD release party, this crowd was eager for a sneak preview Meeting Grace-style.

Eve Selis took the 'stage' flanked by two of the hottest guitarists in the business, Marc Twang and "Cactus" Jim Soldi, and they warmed up the crowd with the haunting "Far Far From Home" and the rollicking "Happy To Be With You." As a special birthday treat, Eve asked one of her best friends, Phoebe Shafer, to join her in front of the crowd. They flawless performed stunning harmonies on the lovely tune "Trail of Tears." Eve and the boys then continued to keep the first half going, easily mixing new songs ("Tear This House Down," "Do You Know Me") with tried and true tunes ("Hot Dog," "Beyond the Moon").

To start off the second half of the show, at Eve's request, I performed my a cappella version of the song, "You Are the Light," which was quite a thrill for me. Then Eve took the floor and with incredible picking & strumming from Marc & Jim, they did what they do best...much to everyone's happiness. From love songs ("Lucky One") to lullabies ("My Whisper") with classics ("Memphis") and new favorites ("Same Train") thrown in, the musical magic was putting a spell on everyone. Eve's voice soared beautifully through the house with the expert playing of Jim & Marc. Then, the crowd got another special treat when Berkley Hart were called up. They performed "Life Won't Wait," the song they co-wrote with Marc & Eve, and then did a Berkley Hart original, "Sink or Swim." And the friends kept coming as Jim Earp was brought up to lend some more guitar work on the Johnny Cash cover tune, "Passin' Thru."

An encore of "I Still Believe in You" capped off a night of pure musical bliss & harmony. Thanks to the wonderful people who were able to help create this special night.
