So just who is M35HA?

He is a man with roots from Europe as well as Asia. Trained in areas as diverse as: Catering - to International Gastronomy Standard; Mental Health - working in the community with individuals who have had treatment for severe anxiety, depression and other forms of mental ilness. At Portsmouth University he has lectured on issues of diversity around refugees. He is a Brahman and well aquainted with Eastern philosophy.

Why does he have his name written that way?

When his name was registered the registrar missspelt the name so it had to stick. It was intended to have the Russian spelling, but spelt in this style it echoes the Israeli from the old king of Moab "Mesha".

What tradition underpins his values?

Educated at Catholic schools while raised in a Brahman home he still holds to much of Brahman tradition. However this is fused with an awareness of modern language and expression.

What about this band he plays in?

He has played bass guitar in rock bands and occasionally dusts his trusty guitar for a tune or 2, but in recent years he has turned to hand drums. Particularly the Bougarabou and the Timba (pronounced Chim-ba) with a Samba band called Batala.

How does "Chill the Cat" fit in?

He thought it was a nice idea to call the cat Chill as it was such a pleasant thing to say when calling her in. Chill is about 6 though underweight as when younger her siblings used to reach the food bowl. Poor Chill. She is still very timid though affectionate in a special way. Diving on my toes, in bed to say "Hey wake up Im hungry". She also loves Marmite.

What is the Ibizan connection?

Several summers over the last decade, have seen him take off for the white Spanish Island. Its attraction is the calming influence of the music especially that at Cafe del Mar. In 2003 he played drums there as well as at Manumission - at the time the worlds biggest club. As he describes it - the "home of Chill".
