| 1996 - DUNCES MOVE TO HEAD OF CLASS |
Our second season saw three different
teams tied going into week 16, but it was the Dunces who won those last
two games to win the championship. Anchored by star QB Brett Favre,
the Dunces finished the season with a 13-4 record, one game ahead of the
second place Zeppelins.
HIGHLIGHTS FROM 1996:

RB Terry Allen (Zeppelins) was named MVP for the 1996 season.
He finished with 203 points and a 116.6 MVP rating.

QB Brett Favre (Dunces) was the top QB, and the only other
player to top 200 points, leading the league with 233.

WR Michael Jackson (War Mongers) scored 31 points in the
final game to leap past Tony Martin to win top WR honors.

It was a big year for Defenses. Eight of the top ten
scores were all set by defenses, with the New York Giants' (Pachyderms)
44 points in week 9 topping the list.

High score for the season went to the War Mongers, who racked
up 112 points in week 8. The War Mongers also topped 100 points two
other times this season.
LOWLIGHTS FROM 1996:

1995 MVP Emmitt Smith (Idiots) scored a respectable 137 points,
but it was a considerable drop off from his 271 points last season.

WR Jerry Rice also saw his production drop, from 201 last
year to 83 this season.

Low score for the season went to the Pachyderms, who scored
only 6 points in week 3.

Only three WRs topped 100 points this season (Michael Jackson,
Tony Martin and Carl Pickens), down from nine last year.
