The wars of our past
Have taken their toll.
They have taken away,
Our brave and our bold.

They saved our country,
They fought on foreign soil,
They saved us from ruin,
Our land was protected and not spoiled.

Although we are still standing tall,
The war did it's damage here and abroad.
It took fathers away from their families,
They now walk down lonesome roads.
