Yeah, take the elevator! Outsmart the bastard!
You click the button and wait for the elevator to come up. You wait, and wait, and wait.
You suddenly realize you're standing in the hallway of your apartment, naked, with a chainsaw. Kinda embarassing. You just wish you can jump in the elevator and get the hell outta there in case any old women look out their doors and freak out.

The door finally opens and you jump in. You hit the button for the ground floor but it doesn't lite up. You hit it again, and again. Nothing.
"Damn thing! Come on!" You pound the control panel and the elevator makes a screaching sound. You hear something snap and the elevator starts to plummet. The last thing you hear before impacting into the ground floor is the laughter of the deadite.
Looks like he outsmarted you.
