Congratulations to Rtrs.
Murad, Ritesh and the Rotaract Club of H.R for not only coming up with the idea
of producing a joint bulletin but also for making it happen. As a matter of fact, we all clubs who are
participating in it also deserve a pat on our backs for not only agreeing to
make a contribution but also sending it thus making the project a big success.
Ever since our club was
formed in late 1999, our club membership has grown from 5 members to 15 active
members. In my vision of our clubs future, I see greater membership development
efforts - not just working to increase our numbers but also making the club and
its activities more meaningful for our existing members. Since the beginning,
we have been involved very closely with our 12 sponsoring clubs in their
various activities and events. Since
last year we have started spreading our wings and undertaking some projects and
doing some events and social activities on our own and organizing seminars for
professional development once a month.
We decided to do a
multicultural evening, to celebrate diverse cultures in our city, which was
also a fundraiser to raise the funds to enable us to send wheel chairs,
communication devices and some books for disabled children in Thailand. It turned out to be a huge success,
specially keeping in mind the fact that it was the first such event by Rotaractors
in Hamilton.
Its success gave us courage
to come up with our upcoming event: conference on "Youth, Leadership And
Sustainable Development" at McMaster University. This conference will give a chance to interact and network with
not only the leaders but also with future leaders. I encourage you all to come out to Hamilton to experience the
life at the Steel City of Canada, visit Niagara Falls and learn from the
experiences of the winners of the "Best Practices Award".
I would like to conclude by
extending invitation to all of you to attend the conference. You can get all the details about it at:

Wishing you all a great and
successful Rotaract week and best wishes.
Yours in service,
Vaneeta Kaur Grover
