Disgruntled former Laker NG All-Star forward Greg Cooper nixes
deal
Los Angeles (AP) - Sometimes being a former all-star player has
its advantages. Just ask Laker NG forward Greg Cooper who was to
be dealt to the Clippers NG for a 2nd round draft pick, a poster
to be named later and a Donald Sterling dart board.
Cooper, 2 years ago, was the terror of the league and used his
success to sign a long term multi-million dollar deal with the
Laker NG. Also included in the contract is a no trade clause.
Cooper was on top of the world. However, rumors started
surfacing that Cooper was not gettng along with fellow teammate
bozak as well as other members of the NG. Inexplicable, Cooper
was placed on the injured reserve because of tendonitis. And he
was left on the IR for much of the season. Questions arose as
the Laker NG entered the playoffs, and Cooper was not on the
playoff roster.
Now that the Laker NG has won the championship without their
former all-star, Cooper is now considered expendable. Laker GM,
Larry Coon is trying desperately to rid the NG of Cooper and his
huge salary. Just this past weekend, a deal was struck with the
Clipper NG, who are obviously equally desperate as they have
zero talent in their NG. The Clipper NG would send a 2nd round
pick, a poster to be named later and on insistence from the
Lakers NG, a Donald Sterling dart board to throw darts at.
However, with Cooper's no trade clause, Cooper has the ability
to veto trades and has publicly stated he would refuse to post
in the Clipper NG.
"BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I can post where I want", responded
Cooper. "I won't have anyone dictate to me where I should post.
I don't need to go to another NG. I can create my own NG.
BWHAHAHHAHA!!! With my Greg-bot program, I can outpost anyone!
The laker NG held me down, I wasn't allowed to display all my
talents which is why we never won the championship when I was
around. It is not my fault we had bad coaches who refused to use
my strengths. I was the master at schooling SBNs but nooo....
they had to handcuff me. Well fuck them! I'm getting paid by
doing nothing but sitting on the IR. BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!"
One wonders why Cooper would reject this deal as he would
definitely receive more posting time in the Clippers NG. One
also wonders, why don't the Laker NG simply buy out Cooper's
contract?
