How to fit a single wiper to a Astra.

Firstly you need to buy a left hand drive right hand section of the scuttle panel, which is a mirror copy of the UK (right hand drive) passenger side half of the scuttle panel.   You can then cut the two and fit them together.   This leaves just one wiper arm hole in the middle.  Next you need to by a wiper arm which is straight and has an adjustable length, I got mine from a VW tuners, as they have loads of single wiper parts, you also need a longer wiper arm.

If you look at the linkage under the scuttle panel, you should be able to see how I works and how to modify it.  The start position needs to be changed to either the middle or the drivers side, this involves loosening the nut which holds the link onto the motor, repositioning the arm to the desired location and then tightening the nut.   The linkage that connects to the bottom of the wiper's pivot needs to be shortened by roughly 6 mm in order to make the wiper wipe the whole screen.   This is done by cutting and welding, some trial and error may be needed, but don't worry, you have a spare linkage from the other side!

As the scuttle panel on your car is probably faded, it would be a good idea to buy and new passenger side section too.
