How to fit a rear head rests to an Astra.

A job which is relatively easy to do but still needs a certain amount of concentration and guts. Making sure you have the following tools available, the head-rests and the head-rest sleeves you can begin.

1)    Locate using your thumbs the locations of the factory holes which are within the seat. These holes may be a short way under the fabric but they are there.
2)    Once located, it is time to cut the holes in the top of the seats. Using a sharp knife cut a cross in the fabric above the locator in the seat. Using one leg of the head-rest push through the foam in the seat until you find the locators.
3)    Now taking one of the head-rest sleeves, trim off the original clips so the sides are smooth. Now push it through the hole and so it locates in the metal locator within the seat. With the use of a hammer and a piece of wood tap the sleeve into the seat until it sits at a height you are happy with. This is necessary because they can be a very tight fit, and so that the sleeves to not move.
4)    now repeat the stages One to Three for the other three sleeves.
5)    Now that all the four sleeves are in the seats you can push the head-rest into place. This may be a bit tough but this is because it is very tight fit.
