Pens Do it Again

The Penguins stormed into the series against the Blackhawks taking a 2-0 lead in the best of severn, in two tough fought games. It seemed like it was going to be lights out in game 3, however the Blackhawks fought back and took care of the Penguins in game 4 winning 9-4. In game 4 the Pens would return the favor stomping the Blackhawks 9-5, taking a 3-1 series lead. Going back to Pitt for game 5 it looked like it would be a swift 5 game series victory for Pitt after they jumped to a 2-0 lead, however Chicago fought back and took a 5-3 victory, and make a 3-2 series in favor of Pitt.

Game 6 was a low scoring affair. The Penguins held a 1-0 lead the whole game. With 32 seconds in regulation the Blackhawks were able to score, forcing overtime. In overtime the Penguins had multiple penalties and could not get the puck out of their own end of the ice. After skating up the ice and behind the net with the puck, Pitt lost possession and the helpless puck floated down from the right side of the net, that's where Larry Murphy scooped it up and popped it in for the series winning goal, giving the Penguins their 3rd consecutive championship.
