As I said on the main page, GWing sports a VERY indepth story line. The pacing is fast, and if you miss a SINGLE episode, you're pretty much going to be lost for a little while.
The series takes place in 195 AC (After Colony). Earth civilians have built five seperate space colonies, and are literally living in huge space stations. The five colonies, named L1, L2, L3, L4, and L5, and Earth, are governed by a group called the Alliance. The Alliance is supposedly set up to ensure peace in the five colonies, and Earth, however, they seem to be doing more than simply ensure peace, in fact, they seem to be the cause of war.
In an attempt to put some sort of grip on the situation, five scientists create five super mechs, called Gundams, which are made from a nearly indestructable metal called Gundanium Alloy. These Gundams can stomp large armies flat, and are amazingly superior to other mobile suits.
By weird consequence, five pilots are issued to each Gundam. At the beginning, they don't know each other, and soon, they join forces. Now, each pilot has the same goal: to destroy the Alliance rule. They're not the only ones who want to do this though. A top-secret organization, called Oz, is operating behind the scenes. They want to rule themselves, and they start their conquest by issuing their own mobile suits to take over the colonies.
