Synopsis
When the young boy Gon discovered that his father (in which he thought was dead) was a world famous hunter, he was dedicated to become a hunter himself to pursue his father. Along side with his great journey, he met three other great companions who accompanied him to take the hunter exams. Each with different reasons to become a hunter, the trial of life/death and love/hate begins on the four heroes.

Story/Plot: 10
Masterpiece...a complete masterpiece! The whole idea of hunters, the mysterious powers of nen, the frightening phantom brigades, the horror of the game Greed Island...nothing can get more original than this. There are different stages in this anime that got me glued to the chair. Each part of the series is just so exciting, and it just gets better and better after the exam! The action and intensity of this anime is one of the best I've ever seen, definitely worth everyone's time.

Characters: 9
Some may think this is another blunt series that revolves around four cliche characters, one being brainy, the other being mysterious, one being hyperactive, and the other being the idiot. Well, although that's the general personality of the main characters, there's still tons of details and mysteries buried inside all the characters. The development of characters is rather slow, and the anime mainly focuses on the events and action rather than the characters itself. But the character designs is quite awesome, quite an eyecandy for fangirls like myself. *winks*

Art: 9
The artwork is very consistent, completely awesome fight scenes and everything. There are probably some minor gliches in some certain episodes, but it's nothing big and unbearable. Probably because it's such a lengthy anime, but overall the artwork is great.

Music: 8.5
I loved the Hunter x Hunter OST!! The music completely brought out the originality of the series. The battle music is stunning, and I particularly loved the Zaoldyeck family OST, how they used that organ to play out most of the music. The first opening theme is very energetic and enjoyable, plus my favorite ending "Kaze no Uta" is exceptionally beautiful. If you prefer nice rock opening themes, Hunter x Hunter is your anime to look for.
