"Like the stars shining in the sky, our feelings won't disappear. Even if our hands become separated, the two of us won't forget this. - Haruka and Narumi reciting "The Spell"
Reviewer: Chibiwonton
Synopsis
As third year high school students, Haruka had a crush on Narumi since they were freshmans. Because of this fact, Haruka's best friend, Mitsuki, became good buddies with Narumi and his friend Shinji just so that Haruka can become a little closer with Narumi. Finally, after a little help of Mitsuki, Haruka became Narumi's girlfriend and they started going out. Just as things were going great, an unexpected accident occured to Haruka and she was left in the hospital suffering from a coma. Narumi, totally shattered from this experience, blamed himself for Haruka's accident. But because he was so vulnerable at this moment, he also discovered this whole new feeling with Mitsuki, creating a harsh love triangle.
Story/Plot: 5
I first decided to watch this anime because it was ranked the best on animenfo.com. But, after I finished watching this series, it's definitely over-rated. The whole series revolves around and only around the same problem: Should I choose Mitsuki or Haruka? And in each episode, it repeats constantly on the same thing which gives me the urge to shut it down and stop watching it. The first two episodes are pretty sweet, but the rest are very irritating. Maybe if you are a major fan of soap operas, this could be your type of anime. The best part of the series are the short omakes at the end.
Characters: 3
You know you stop liking an anime series when you totally hate the protagonists of the series. Narumi is a total bum and Mitsuki is a total whore. I feel sorry for Haruka the whole time, and I can imagine why Akane is so angry with both Narumi and Mitsuki. They don't deserve each other's love, and this anime actually proved that being harsh can result happy endings. The character designs were very plain and ordinary, nothing unique at all. There wasn't really any deep character development either, so it feels more like watching a one shot more than an entire series.
Art: 8
Very beautiful art indeed and nice to watch. Not too much action in this series, so you're basically just there to admire the bodily figures of the characters *laughs*.
Music: 7
The music is also excellent. I especially loved the sad ending theme: very beautiful and relaxing. The new vocalist Minami Kurashibara is one of my favorite singers, so I strongly suggest you download some of her songs from this series. There wasn't really memorable OSTs, just ordinary background music.
