Thirza

Thirza sighed as she finished moving all her stuff into the new weyr. It was a nice weyr, big enough for Bellezath and her to live comfortably. But she still didn’t like moving, she didn’t like change. She missed the days when it was just her and Ronan, not R’nan, Ronan. But those days were long gone, she had to move on. Besides, She thought watching Bellezath get comfortable in her new dragon couch. It’s not like I’m alone.

The queen smiled. You’ve always got me rider mine. The golden dragon nuzzled her rider.

Thirza laughed. "What’s up with you Bellezath. Even I have to admit you’re getting weird. First you’re all sad that we moved weyrs, then you can’t wait to leave, then you’re all mean to Amorth, then you’re acting like a big baby again. It’s hard to keep up with your mood swings."

Bellezath snorted almost knocking the thin rider over. She often forgot how small Thirza was. The queen rider was very small and often compared to a toothpick. She had plain, straight brown hair that hung limply to her shoulders. She had bright green eyes and a smattering of freckles. Her smile was able to light up the area around her easily and was becoming a more frequent site. After she’d impressed to Bellezath and moved to Adanuk, the fragile 21 turn girl began to smile on a regular basis. The queen took this into account when she knocked Thirza with her head. I can’t look like I’m favouring anyone, now can I?

Thirza laughed. "Favouring anyone? Love, Magika said you were getting to the age where you’d want to fly. You’re still too young. You’re only......." Thirza grew wide eyed and stared at her dragon.

Bellezath smiled. You do not catch on very quickly rider mine. I thought I would have to spell it out to you.

Thirza sat down on the edge of the dragon couch. She stared at her dragon, uncomprehending. "You don’t mean you’re already ready to....to...." She gulped. "...fly."

Bellezath laughed. I’ve been ready for a while. It’s you who hasn’t been ready.

Thirza looked helplessly at her lifemate. "And I am now?" She squeeked.

Bellezath shook her head and stretched her wings. Of course. Now if you’d be so kind. Magika’s already notified Weyrwoman Lythena of Andromeda Weyr that we’ll be there soon.

Thirza mumbled a confused, "Oh." and climbed onto her queen’s back.

Bellezath trumpeted loudly as she burst from between over Andromeda Weyr. She landed and trumpeted again, scaring the smaller browns and blues present. A few of the bronzes had the audacity to trumpet back. She glared at them until they too left her alone.

"Most defiantly ready to fly." Weyrwoman Lythena commented as she approached Thirza.

Thirza smiled and bobbed her head in greeting. "Thank-you for having us Weyrwoman."

Lythena smiled. "No problem. We’ve got a weyr set up for you two. You just need to fill in the form and you’ll be all registered."

"Thanks." Thirza mumbled, slightly uncomfortable around strangers. She turned to the Flight Board.

Bellezath followed her, growling at all female dragons who dared come close to her. She snorted at the males who thought they could come and meet her. She glared at everyone present. They’re all so slow. All of them. None will catch me.

Thirza sighed. She was getting used to Bellezath talking like this. "Then what’s the point of flying love? If no one can catch you it’s a waste of time don’t you think?"

The queen snorted. Only the one I want to catch me will.

Thirza nervously filled out the flight form. "Who do you want to catch you love?"

The queen smiled. I don’t know yet. But I will.

Great, Thirza sighed inwardly. I hate surprises.
