A weird year for Magüi
The year
that is about to finish has been very bittersweet for Magüi Serna. She couldn't have
started better, because, paradoxically, after eight seasons as professional, she
reached the place of 19th in the rankings last January, but at the year's end, due to
some injuries and lack of continuity in the results, it has been sad to see her out
from the top 100 (104).
Fernando García, Serna's coach, says that his player is getting some fresh air
with her relatives, with support and physical condition. Juan Falcón,
responsible for the basketball team Gran Canaria, directs her preparation. According
to him, three weeks before her return to the competition, everything is going as
scheduled and the work invites optimism.
"It's a question of getting confidence and good results so that Magüi comes back
to her natural place, that's being top 50, as she has been in the last seven
years. There will be few points to defend and every match will be gaining points",
the Canarian coach said.
