Ryvius

What: Aiba Koji, his brother Yuki, and a group of nearly 300 teens are stranded on the spaceship, Ryvius. Seeking sanctuary, they are constantly attacked by an unknown enemy. Who are they, and what could they want with the Ryvius? And who is the mysterious girl that appears around the ship...?

The Good: What shines and excels in "Infnite Ryvius" to me is the massive characterization. There are a huge number of people on the Ryvius, and through the 26 episodes, you see them, recognize them, and actually witness them all change, for better or worse. The series does a fantastic job of conveying how each character feels and thinks about the situations that they get involved in.

The Bad: Well, I'm sure there will be a few people put off by the series' pseudo R & B soundtrack. Also, there might be TOO MANY characters for the audience to follow, leaving them confused and wondering what they should have payed attention to.

The Bottom-Line: The series is has plenty of space battles, so if you aren't a fan of that sort of anime, like "Crest of the Stars", then you you might find yourself bored. However, if you enjoy seeing ship-to-ship fights, then you'll be pleased by the amount of fleshed out, interesting characters, and a involving plot. I would highly highly recommend this series.

The Dub: As of yet, no dub exists. HOWEVER, the series was liscensed for American release by Bandai Entertainment. There is no projected release yet, however, so we'll just have to be patient.
