Becky Herbert, a member of the Institute for Animal Health at Pirbright, competed in the London Triathlon on August 1st 2004 and raised a huge sum which has contributed to the purchase of land for an orphanage near Jumbe for which the Heart of Africa and the orphans at UPILE are very grateful.

I have finally collected and counted all the money raised by competing in the London Triathlon this year. The final total was £335 which is fantastic.

Thank you to everyone who sponsored me. It will make a big difference to the work Teli is able to do in Malawi and with setting up the orphanage.

Many thanks

Becky

PS “I managed to complete the race in 3hrs 1min which I am quite pleased about. I found the cycle very hard though. Overall it was a really good day. Great atmosphere and I had lots of people supporting me which was nice. Everyone has been very generous.”

The Olympic distance which was a 1.5 km swim, 40km cycle and a 10km run took place round the London Docklands. Thank you to all the supporters.

And of course "Well done and many thanks Becky"
