Chapter 5 – King Lemelle & The Dragon Orbs
DM - Chad
As recalled by the DM
Traveling down the road the party eventually came to a sign post. One arrow pointing to the left read Lemelle, another pointing to the right read Rablesk, and one pointing in the direction they came from read Coursair. Of course, the party chose to go to Lemelle. As they were travelling northward towards Lemelle they encountered a funny looking man on a gypsy-style cart. He introduced himself as Merty and with a push of a button his cart stopped and the right side fell open with an awening, revealing all kinds of marvelous items for sale. The party checked out various items but alas could not afford to buy anything. They bid Merty goodday and hoped they would bump into his marvelous marketplace in the future.
After some time, the party approached the city gates of Lemelle. The walls of the city were very tall and still battered from the battle two months ago. They were greeted and allowed to enter the city. Lemelle was a hive of activity artisans, carpenters and workers deligently working to restore the city to what it was. There were many homes and buisnesses which were smashed to bits from the battle. Looking at the city map, the group decided to check in to the Knight and Nave Inn.
After securing loding they went to the castle and inquired about the Quest for the Dragon Orbs. They were informed that the king would see all the adventurers for the quest the day after next at 10 AM. The party then went to the Magic School to see about getting a chest that Thrall had found opened.
The courtyard of the Magic School was bustling with student activity. Asking around the party learned a bit about houses at the school and rank within the students. Once inside they were greeted by one of the faculty. After explaining why they were there they were brought into the chambers of the Arch Magnus, Rollin. Thrall produced the chest and Rollin was intrigued and disturbed at the writting on the chest. Since this was a rare item, Arch Magnus Rollin offered to open the chest for the party. Everyone agreed to have it opened.
The faculty were summoned and the party was invited to watch. They gathered in a large room used for magical experiments, summoning and whatnot. A circle on the floor glowed blue which protected those outside from anything harmful that may come from the chest once it was opened. With all the faculty working together the chest was opened. Inside they discovered an scroll with the incantation for the Fire of Dis, a very powerful and evil force which should never be unleashed on the world. The Arch Magnus explained this to the party and offered them 10 000 gp for the scroll in order that it doesn't fall into evil hands. The party agreed and became 10 000 gp richer. Along with the reward, the Arch Magnus asked if the party would take one of the students of the magic school with them as they quested for the dragon orbs. Since they didn't have a arcane magic user they agreed. Rollin told them the student would meet them at the castle the day after next.
The party then went and had some supper at the Inn and rested...NEW DAY!
In this interim day everyone did something different. Thrall went back to the Magic School to get a book for Mr. Mystic and browsed around town. Lia went to the archives and looked up some information about Rablesk. And Tari spent some time at the Temple of Oildimara.
Meeting back at the Inn for supper and then rested...NEW DAY!
