invisible wall

She's protected by an invisible wall.
She's good at pretending when they call.
Everything's alright.  Everything's okay.
They don't ask much, so she slinks away.
It hurts so much that they can't know.
It kills her inside that it just won't show.
She's got secrets she just cannot tell.
All her memories keep her in constant hell.
Death tourments her every night in her sleep.
The journey's too long and far too steep.
The unreal soon becomes the reality of life.
The pain, the agony, the horror, the strife.
It'll all be over soon, at least she has hope.
It's getting harder and harder everyday to cope.
Her young life's been through so much already.
It's hard to imagine her head's still steady.
Not somewhere off in the coulds, up in the sky.
Amazingly no one sees how much she wants to die.
But this works for her, all the pretend and games.
And she knows tomorrow it'll all be the same.
