the house on the corner

I am now unbelieveably very alone
And you're off, far away from our home

I watch kids, playing, all having fun
You watch big men, in uniform, all holding guns

It seems like just yesterday you were around
Then with one call, you flew out of town

The house, on the corner, adorns red, white, and blue
A yellow ribbon, on our tree, thinking of you

I want to see you, hug you, hear your voice so nice
But to look at your picture will just have to suffice

And just before I close my eyes shut at night
I always pray you'll come home alright
