Daniela Sarasso was born in Vercelli; she lives and has her studio in Torre Pellice, province of Turin, Italy.

She has a degree in Architecture, with a town-planning trend, and teaches Design and Art History at the grammar school "G.F. Porporato" of Pinerolo (Turin, Italy). She has matured her own artistic and human experience through meeting different peoples, places and cultures.

Her interests are manifold and characterized by an only mainstream outstretched towards knowledge of the surrounding world, present or past. Among them there is archaeology, music and oriental mysticism.

Her commitment lavished in sport activities, mainly light athletics, horsemanship and aikido, upholded by practising yoga and her interest in alternative medicine and holistic-health, points out in a syntetic manner her need of searching for harmony between body and spirit, between Man and his environment.

This continuous searching for harmony is evident since her first artistic creations.

In more recent times, travelling, that means closely meeting different cultures, has been for this artist an important source of growing and improvement, a maturity sought for by turning her eyes towards Orient, mainly towards India.

Travelling is also a metaphor of earthly existence, gaily coloured and transient like the mandalas which give inspiration to many works by Daniela Sarasso.

Following an expressive itinerary distinguished by sign-movement the artist has recently come near to shodo, the japanese calligraphic art, that represents one of the major artistic expressions of zen.

So, it may be asserted that the unceasing way of human being and of every element of creation, indissoluble from the own spiritual dimension, is for this painter a way of consciousness about deep reasons of existence, becoming in this way her main source of artistic inspiration.
