If you know ahead of time that you will be entering into discussion with a cultist, or sharing Scripture, prepare yourself by using your authority as a Christian and put Matthew 18:18-20 into action. Get another believer to agree with you (not a doubter, but preferably a strong Christian), and in Jesus' name, bind the spirit of deception which is keeping the cultist blinded (2 Corinthians 4:4 and Acts 26:18). 'Loose' the cultist in Jesus' name, to hear the gospel of truth so that it will penetrate into his heart and mind. People in the cults are under a spirit of deception, and your words will not penetrate without this Divine help, no matter how well prepared you are. Don't despair if results don't appear immediately. God's Word cannot go out and return without producing results (Isaiah. 55:911). The Word of God will begin working in the cultist, convincing him of his error. It takes time as he has to become 'un-programmed'. While waiting for the promised results, your faith must go into action. Faith is not mental assent. Faith is the act of trusting God. You must learn to walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians. 5:7). Never look at the circumstances or let your emotions rule you; only look at and confess the Word of God. Believe that God's answer to prayer can be a reality (Hebrews 11:1,6). Believe that the cultist can be set free, saved, worshipping with you, reunited with his family, etc. You have God's Word on it (Matthew 19:26). Pray things like, "I thank You, Heavenly Father, that he can have freedom in Jesus' name". Live daily in an attitude of praise and thankfulness to God for His Word and His promises of deliverance (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18). |
