Pop Band NSYNC Fills Charleston Arena
Charleston, W.Va.,
March 7 1999-Ten thousand pop music fans packed the Charleston Civic Center
Wednesday night for the pop band Nsync's first visit to the mountain state.
This is the first concert for Sarah and Amanda Jordan, 16 and 18, Huntington.
"We love these guys," Amanda said.
"They have great music. It just makes you feel good," Sarah said excitedly.
The quintet performed several of their top 20 hits, including "I want you
back", "Tearin' up my heart", and "I drive myself crazy."
The concert ran 2/ 1/2 hours.
Opening acts were Irish pop girl band B-Witched and actress-cum-pop princess,
Tatiyana Ali.
Fans of the boyband range between 10 and 13 years old and rarely can be found
in high schools and colleges.
"I don't understand why older people don't like them. What is not to like?
Cute guys that sing peppy songs. What girl doesn't like that?" Amanda
said.
Amanda said college students shouldn't be ashamed of listening to pop music.
"It really lets me get away from the stress of college. There is nothing
wrong with letting go of your adult worries and just being a kid again for a
little while," she said.
Sarah says the band is not only fun to listen to, but they have also brought
she and her sister closer.
"We've always been close, but being NSYNC fans gives us this great common
interest. It's kind of like our dirty little secret," Sarah said. (I like
this part)
Nsync continue their tour this month with stops in Columbus and Cleveland.
