Little Angels

The Toddler & Carer group meets regularly in the church at the Academy during Term Time
on Mondays & Fridays at 9.15am.

The last meeting before half-term will be on Friday 16th October.
The group restarts on Monday 26th October.

'No, no, no, Moses' - Holiday Club at St Christopher's Church

	A Holiday Club was held at St Christophers Church in July with Karl Hanton in the title role as leader . . .
. . . in time honoured fashion, leaders were gunged . . .
	. . . but a new activity was learning Bollywood style dancing . . .
. . . plus learning how Moses followed God, through enjoying other activities.

The Edge

You may be wondering what SEMP (the Southern Edge Mission Partnership) has been up to lately.
As well as the recent ‘Anniversary Stroll’ through the parishes and this year’s Treasure Hunt, the Partnership’s “The Edge” project is well under way, guided by detached Youth Worker Ali Simpson (based at St Christopher's).
She writes of her recent activities in the Edge’s blog (www.southernedgemp.blogspot.com)

• Networking with various agencies
• Engaging in detached youth work in the Saff and Aylestone
• Worked alongside other youth service providers
• Have a regular group of young people who we meet to play football with weekly
• Helped with the YMCA youth consultation event
• Funding applications!!!!
• Met with different organisations about how they can help the project move forward
• Begun working with volunteers

. . . and she would value our prayers for the following situations:
• Continued support by other service providers
• Discernment as to which areas God wishes to see this project develop
• Opportunities to engage with local young people
• The football project – Thanks to those who supported this project in prayer over the last few months.....now we just need to get the project ‘kicked off’

Time Capsule for the Academy and St Christopher's Church

	A record for the future was safely stored away on 25th March, when a Time Capsule containing items suggested by members of the Academy and of St Christophers Church was buried in the Academy garden. . .

	Alison read this prayer: God of the past who has fathered and mothered us - - we are here to thank you; God of the present here in the midst of us - - we are here to praise you; God of the future who is always ahead of us - - we are here to trust you; God of life within us and beyond us - - we rejoice in your glorious love. Loving God, we thank you for our school and our church.
We thank you for the journey you have brought us all on to get us to this place – to our new building and our new community together.
We ask that you will help us to look after all that you have given us and help us to look after each other so that when, in years to come, future generations discover this time capsule, they will see a record of the beginnings of changed lives and lives lived to your glory.
