Tour of PaintShop Pro

The next few menu options ("Image", "Effects", "Layers", "Objects", "Selections" and "Masks") all have different things you can do with your image in PSP.  Have a play around and see what you can find - there's a treasure chest full of wonderful tools available in those menu's.

The next menu is the "Window" menu:

The "New Window" option opens your current (active) image in a new window.

The next group of options ("Cascade", "Tile Horizontally" and "Tile Vertically") are all useful if you have lots of different windows open.  Personally, I prefer to have all my windows maximised but that's just my personal preference... if you prefer your windows to be the same size as your image, have a play around with these options and see which way you prefer your windows to be arranged.  The "Close All" option closes all the windows you have open in that session of PSP

The "Duplicate" option opens your current (active) image in a new window but, unlike the "New Window" option, it thinks of itself as a totally separate image that just so happens to be an exact copy of your first image

If your current (active) image is maximised and you want the window to be the same size as your image,  clicking on the "Fit to Image" option will resize your window for you

Underneath all these options, you will see the name of your image with some information next to it.  The tick means that it's the (current) active image.  The 1:1 next to the name, shows you which image it is (if you choose the "New Window" option, you'll have one image with 1:1 and one image with 1:2).  The numbers in the square brackets show you if you have zoomed in on your image - mine shows [1:1] so I haven't zoomed in - if it said [1:2] it would mean that I'd zoomed in once and that the image was 2 times it's original size, if it said [1:3] I would have zoomed in 2 times and the image would be 3 times it's original size.
