Objective: Students will review the life cycle of a butterfly by creating and presenting a skit to the class.
Anticipatory Set: How many people like to act? Have you ever been to a play? What do butterflies remind you of? Ballet?
Procedure
- Review what students have learned about butterflies.
- Read "From Caterpillar to Butterfly" by Deborah Heiligman
- Discuss stages the caterpillar is going through.
- Discuss that we are going to make up skits that are short plays.
- Tell students that they need to show the butterfly life cycle in their skit.
- After a given amount of time to prepare and teacher guidance have students perform their skits for their classmates.
