In The Dreamtime

In the dreamtime Mother Earth and Father sky

Made together new spirits

Made together small bodies

Made together living creatures

You and me they made

A perfect pair of living beings

And we knew each other then

In the first daytime we ran together naked and free

Learning the ways of the old ones

Crawling together in the dust

Finding each other's way

Dying together in the dust

Into the Dreamtime once again

With each Daytime new learning was given

Love and Pain given

Mistakes we made and sometimes corrected

And we had wings together

And we made children together

We made war some days

But back in the Dreamtime we loved

In this Daytime I searched for you

Many days, many years I searched for you.

Alone, struggling on to learn hard lessons

In the back of my mind was always you

I see your bright face at last

Just before the Dreamtime.
