Chapter 11 Five and a half  years later The doorbell rang.  Cassidy waddled over to the door, her seven month pregnant belly getting in her way. "Hey.  Is he ready?", Jeff said with a smile as Cassidy opened the door and let him in. "Justin!  You’re Dad’s here!", she yelled up the stairs.  Then she turned to Jeff, "He’ll be down in a minute.  Want some coffee?"   "That’d be great.", he said following her into the kitchen.   Upstairs, Justin struggled to tie his shoe.  Matt stood in the doorway and watched. "I did it.  Pop, I did it!", Justin said completely amazed that he had tied his own shoe.  "Yeah.  That’s great son.", Matt said bending over and hugging the little boy as his heart filled with pride. "Hurry up.  You’re Dad’s downstairs waiting.", he told him. Justin smiled and hurried out of his room and down the stairs followed by Matt.  "Just a couple of more months and she’ll be here.", Jeff commented on Cassidy’s pregnancy. "Yeah.  Thank goodness.  She’s more hyper in there than Justin ever thought about being." "That seems about right.", he said with a smile.   Both of them knew that Jeff was referring to the difference in the children’s fathers and laughed at the thought. "Look! Look!  I tied my own shoe!", Justin said rushing into the kitchen.  "That’s great kiddo.", Jeff said pulling his son onto his lap.  "Hey, bro.", Matt said walking into the kitchen and kissing his wife as he stood beside her. "Hey.  I thought maybe instead of taking two cars, you could just go with me to take him to school and then we could just ride to the arena together.", Jeff said.  "Sounds good to me."   Justin and Matt kissed Cassidy goodbye and Jeff kissed her on the cheek.  She walked them outside. "I love you.", Matt said kissing Cassidy one more time.  "I love you, too."   "I love you, too.", he said to her belly. "Go already.  And be careful." She waved as she watched them pull away.  As she turned to go inside, she looked down at her stomach where her unborn daughter was twisting and turning every which way.  "That just goes to show you little girl.  You never really now how life’s gonna turn out.", she said smiling as she rubbed her belly and walked back inside.
