![]() Other Webs | Steinbach Diamond Aces Fly In September 9, 2001 Mitch and I headed out to Steinbach and had just a super time with the guys from the Diamond Aces Club to end off our road trip fly-in season. The field is nice, compact but with great smooth grass, super hospitality and nice fall weather. Click on the pics to enlarge and send me some names and I'll add them in. I've got a great memory but it's awfully short. Lets, check out the field
A couple of things I really liked were: the orange and black frequency tags and the short posts that the rope ran through - have a look.
Air Combat - five guys took off with streamers, a mid air and two were in the corn field, it seemed like we were on the set of "Field of Dreams" when every one headed into the corn field to find the wrecks, " crash it and they will come". Harold S ended up as Combat King for the day. Greg Penner's Ultrasport and Jonathan Epp's own design went in.
Merv F and his Citabria, Ed V and his Super Sportster, and Jonathan Epp with his own design 049 P51D and my fellow CH 18 flyer, Abe Reimer. Mitch's and my big birds Group photo, club prez Ed V and Amy Boivin. Amy tells me he just started flying last year, well he flies pretty good for a rookie and let me make a few circuits with his Cub.
To end a great day, a wiener roast! Thanks for a great day, see you in 2002!
