By Ally, 7/7/03 In the 14 years that I have been a Manly fan, I have never been ashamed of it. Except now, when some fans loyalties are questioned. The recent events happening at Manly are enough to make any fan worry. But it shouldn't mean that 1. you take it out on the team or 2. other Manly fans, and 3. defiently shouldn't mean you switch clubs because things are looking a bit grey. 1. It isn't the teams fault what happens within the club. All they do is go out and play every week, give it their all because that's what they love to do and they are doing it not for themselves but for Manly 2. Fans are what make a club. In Hoppa's words: "If you don't have fans, you don't have a team". We all share one thing in common and that is a love of Manly. We shouldn't go blaming other fans for things, eg. liking Sharp as a coach. This is becoming apparent on the Manly forum, a place which is as important as any for communication between fans. There is no need to put someone down for an opinion, no matter how much you disagree. 3. Switching clubs. The ultimate traitoracy. God help the new club. I have nothing more to say on this point. So Manly fans. What are you going to do: sit and blame fans & players, or unite to make the proud Manly following as great as ever? Eels still in deep Manly Fever is currently looking for fans to write about Manly & general Rugby League news. Email us to apply (there is a 99% chance you will be able to become a regular "columnist", so it's a good deal :P). Other fans who don't want to write regular news items but share their views can do so by emailing a paragraph or two (along with your name & manly fever nickname if you are a member). It's that simple!
