Beaconia Beach

Beaconia Beach is a very popular summer spot for gay nudists. It consists of a beautiful stretch of sand, dunes and trees located on the southeastern shore of Lake Winnipeg, just north of Patricia Beach. There is absolutely no commercial influence.
In the summer of 1999 a court ruling made it legal to be nude on the beach. This was challenged by a small group and considerable tensions arose. However, the opposing constituents lost their battle and during the summer of 2000 all was back to normal and nudity on the beach abounds.

Directions (From Winnipeg)

Drive about 70 kilometers (43.5 miles) north on Highway 59.(You are close when you reach the "Patricia" sign. The Beaonia turn off is just after you go over the railway tracks). Turn Left (West) on Provincial Road 500 to reach the tiny town of Beaconia. Continue due west on the gravel road, which goes over a marsh and ends in a parking lot. Walk to the beach and turn left. You will have to walk about 10 minutes to reach the nude part of the beach. Please note that the section of beach nearest the parking lot primarily used by clothed straight couples and families.

Patricia Beach

Patricia Beach is in a Provincial Park and requires that you purchase a pass (inexpensive). Food concessions are available. For the most part, this is a very busy family oriented and clothed beach. However, if you walk as far East (to the right) as you can (5 minutes at most) and make a right through the bushes, you will come to a very nice NUDE area. This Beach is considerably cozier than Beaconia Beach and is very gay friendly.

From Winnipeg, follow the same directions as you would to get to Beaconia and just watch for the Patricia Beach Sign on Hwy. 59 (if you come to the Beaconia turn off, you've gone too far).
