'between the heaving breasts of'
between the heaving breasts of
the ocean goddess-
at that moment i knew all was lost.
the dejected form of a several-times loser
fails to yet again lift into
an apathetic smile.
the dogs continue their feast
oblivious to the storm or
the rocking of the boat.
and i watch sadly
raising yet again the bar
and placing my hands between
pages of an encyclopedia
pressing flowers,
and rage yet again against
the tyrant of the seas-
professing no dominion
over me.
