declared the sheep-mistress who tends the gates.

god is the word + the world

+ knows no cessation.

mad though her mane of white locks may be

+ her goat's-head staff post-humously strange

she knows well the words:

in the womb of god there is no silence!

but to hear the smallest voice that speaks

you must stop speaking.
