To configure automatic line disconnect, use theautohangup line configuration command. This command causes the EXEC to issue the exit command when the last connection closes. Use the no form of this command to disable automatic line disconnect.

This command is useful for UNIX UUCP applications that automatically disconnect lines because UUCP scripts cannot issue the exit command to hang up the telephone.
The following example enables automatic line disconnect on lines 5 through 10:
