| “Captain,” interrupted Lieutenant Hardy, “Space Control has given us clearance to head out again.” Mansel took his position behind his chair. “Very well,” he said. “Coordinates input, Mr. Broadaway?” The helmsman nodded. “Yes sir.” “Clear all moorings.” “Moorings cleared, captain.” “Maneuvering thrusters.” The Explorer eased out of the Spacedock towards open space, guided by its maneuvering thrusters and Lieutenant Commander Broadaway’s excellent piloting skills. After a few short minutes, the Explorer’s translight nacelles were clear of the bay doors. “Translight speed, Mr. Broadaway,” ordered Commander Vaughn. He looked over at Mansel. “We’re picking up the same place we left off?” Mansel nodded. “Yes. Back to the fun stuff. Go.” The Explorer powered up its translight engines and shot off into space, hopefully to find more adventures. |
