So let's start the interview with something else Alex.Can you classified the band's style of
music,what kinda Metal in fact?
Well, i could say you can call us:European Power Metal with classical influences.
We try to mix the all the elements we love.Our music is fast,very melodic,majestic and heavy..
It is hundred procent SILENT FORCE. We put all the elements we love into our music.Some of the elements are:power,melody,speed,force,classic,metal,virtuosity...and some passion,believe
and last but not least trust!
* How's the line-up today?
The same as before...on vocals we have still DC COOPER,myself(ALEX BEYRODT)on guitars,
than we have our skin basher by the name of ANDRE HILGERS,behind the keyboards we have
TORSTEN ROHRE and finally JURGEN STEINMETZ who's playing bass guitar.
In fact we have a strong bounderie in this line-up!During all the tours with Statovarius,Angra, UDO and all the festivals in America with Symphony X,plus all the other gigs with Rhapsody, Edguy,Gamma Ray...we got a strong relationship in the band.
* Your second album entitled'INFATUATOR'..where does the title come from and did the
record sales good or not?Are you satisfied about the results?
As you know,you always can do better!We are disappointed with the work of our record compa-
ny.I think they should have done more for us.I'm satisfied with the record a lot!!It shows all the imprtant trademarks of the band and the results in all the reviews all over the world has been fantastic.I have been five time in Japan in two years,we played two times in America,we played two tours all over Europe,one tour over Germany,...etc...So,the records has been quite succesfull!
* Is there any difference markable between the first and the second album?
The second one sounds more aggressive and heavy!
Empire was written and produced all by myself...Infatuator is mostly born in the rehearsal room. After our tour All Over Europe with Stratovarius,we started to work on new material... still influenced from the tour. That's why the Infatuator album is heaviër than our prevoius album called Empire! So,wait our next album''LINE OF ATTACK''...we started to work on the material after the tour with Angra all over Europe and then, later with U.D.O.
I'm very happy with the new songs,the band did a great job. We worked our asses of in the rehearsal room. As an artist it is always important to work on yourself. I work on my guitar
playing since many years. On'Empire'i sound a bit more polished...for my opinion.
On'Infatuator'i play more aggressive and raw. Also,the way we recorded the guitars is a very important point and reason for that. We used only my ENGL heads...really loud and i played a great old STRAT! Believe or not...90 procent of the tracks are played with an old Strat.
And i used a different set up for my strings...but,this is my secret hah!
There are many small little details which are important for a good sound...and in the whole
picture they count a lot.
* What is the link between Silent Force and the Finish POP singer Inka Auhagen?
To be honest, for me an unusual combination.Was she in the past involved with some other
Metal bands or not?
No, she definitely wasn't!She is a friend of our drummer and she lives in his neighbourhood.
For some reason, DC (our singer)want's to have a female singer in the ballad,so Andre came up with this idea to hook up with Inka.She came to the studio and...she smoked!
* You guys did alot of touring the last few years.What was the greatest tour ever and why?
I think the best tour we did was the Stratovarius All Over Europe Tour.This was the first tour we did in this line-up and it was a great party..check out the tour diary on our homepage,you gonna laugh your ass off!
* How's DC Cooper today?Is he still involved with Royal Hunt or is he maybe working on some
new tunes for a next solo album?
DC Cooper is definitely NOT longer involved with the band Royal Hunt...since i guess 5 years!
Right now,he is working on our new songs for the forthcoming Silent Force album and he's also
busy preparing a new solo album.
* You're also participated with the fabulous guitar player Viktor Smolski.How did it all started
and is he a nice person to work with?
Sure,Viktor is a friend of mine! We know each other since years and have performing together in Los Angeles at the Namn Show. We also been together in Holidays in Las Vegas which was
very funny at all. We went out of gas in the desert around Vegas and that was one great,fan-
tastic adventure. So, when it came down to the vocalrecordings we asked Viktor to work with
Silent Force and yeah...he did it with pleasure! He's a great guy anyway!!!
* So,there's a new SF album on the way.Would it be the same style as usual and shall we hear
Inka or some other guest musicians on thet record?
Our next album will be also very melodic, fast, aggresive and virtuose!
There will be a guest musician on the new album,but it is still a secret who it will be..anyway,
it's gonna be somebody well known.More news about it later on!
* What are the expectations for the future?
We hope to get on tour with the new album when it's ready,just because we're a LIVE band and
we need to be on stage. That's the place where we belong!
