In the early 70’s shifu George Lisjak began to learn Kempo Karate, later he studied Hong Jia under shifu Norm Mandarino (shifu Ting Fong Wong lineage). Shifu George Lisjak also wrestled and was on his high school judo team .
As an undergraduate at Fredonia State University, shifu George Lisjak became interested in body building placing 2nd in Mr. Buffalo (NY). Later, while attending Life Chiropractic University in Atlanta, Georgia shifu George Lisjak placed 3rd in Mr. Peach-Tree State. In 1984, shifu George Lisjak graduated Magna Cum Laude as a Doctor of Chiropractic. Post graduate studies in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine led to certification by the International Academy of Clinical Acupuncture.
After returning to Buffalo, shifu George Lisjak studied Tae Kwon Do and Kickboxing for a short time. In the late 80’s he started training Ba Bu Tang Lang under shifu Dean Economos in the Buffalo area. He attained the level of black sash/belt and from that point on, shifu George Lisjak studied Ba Bu Tang Lang exculsively under shifu Xun Guang Long.
Shifu George Lisjak opened a school in 1995, was made New York State representative in 1997, and was elected head of shifu Xun Guang Long’s "American Chinese Martial Arts Federation" Education Department. In 1999 he was accepted as shifu Xun Guang Long disciple.
In 2000 shifu George Lisjak became independent from the shifu Xun Guang Long’s organization, operating his own independent school located around Buffalo (NY, USA).
In 2002 shifu George Lisjak became a disciple of shifu Ilya Profatilov.
In 2004, shifu Lisjak joined shifu Wang Ren Gang's "International Dachengdao Organization", at which time he converted to Hao-style (Tai Ji Mei Hua Tang Lang Quan) and moved to Atlanta, Georgia (USA).
