Student of shifu Ma Han Qin in Beijing for about 30 years. He learned Six Harmonies Praying Mantis and Plum Blossom Praying Mantis Boxing, being one of his earliest disciples. He also learned under shifu Ma Han Qin various weapons, Shao Lin Quan and Tai Ji Quan.
Shifu Hu Xi Lin also trained under Shuai Jiao under shifu Pu En Fu (Pu Liu) for 12 years in Bei Jing and became disciple.
Shifu Hu Xi Lin is famous for his fighting abilities and he has incorporated the techniques of Shuai Chiao into all of the Mantis he teaches. In the 60s he was even praised by his Liu He Tang Lang Quan shi ye (shifu Shan Xiang Ling) when they touched hands.
In 1988 shifu Hu Xi Lin moved to Richmond B.C. (Canada), where he still leaves and teaches.
