Shifu Zhao Qi Lu was born in the village of Dachi Shan, Laiyang county, Shandong Province.
According to the oral tradition, shifu Zhao Qi Lu was born in a rich family and learned his boxing skills from the daoist monk shifu Li Bing Xiao. This daoist lived with shifu Zhao Qi Lu for several years until he learned the complete style. After that, the old shifu Li Bing Xiao left shifu Zhao Qi Lu's house and never returned.
Shifu Zhao Qi Lu lived at the early 1800's.
