Mark, Terrance and myself

Mark, Terrance and I discussed some ideas on how to organize the program. A few things came up:
     - We will prefer to involve slightly senior kids in the program
     - Important (and interesting for me): we decided that the ideal size of the group (at Anginos) would be 10-12 kids. The reason he said was the high turnover. According to Mark and Terrance, this size will be good to ensure that same kids come every day.
     - We also thought about incentives to give to kids. Terrance came up with the idea of giving a computer as an incentive! with attendance as an important factor.
     - Also, to advertise, Terrance will go to the local schools and make announcements about the program
     - Moreover, we talked about what other teachers/trainers would like to get involved.

We reviewed the web site program and decided the following days for the program:

     Boys and Girls Club of Steelton
     Internet program,
     6-7pm Tuesday and Thursdays for 6 weeks starting September 3rd 2002

John Shantz, Rosa Morel, Robert Ashworth, Saravanan Ramanathan, Shouqiang (Frank) Wang, Wanda Gong and Manuj Naman

• We discussed the objectives of the program (used the word document I sent in my first email).

• We decided that everyone will mail me their preferred days when they can come for the 1 hour sessions. Wanda and Frank have already sent their dates to me, as soon as I get other dates, I will update the schedule below.

• Rosa and Wanda volunteered to help with making the detailed class modules for first two sessions. Rosa has a sample class schedule that we can leverage.

• We are floating the program only at Steelton in the beginning to see what the response is. As the program is short, we can float it again, in multiple clubs if the response is good.

• Some good suggestions came up:

• We can give the kids Deloitte t-shirts left over from other similar programs as an incentive

• We can put kids’ photographs on the pages. We will need a digital camera for that

• I did not take the minutes… so I am sure I am missing something…  will fix that next time

• We did not set up a recurring meeting. We will meet when required.
