DISCLAIMER
Well I don't know if I should be reviewing DVDs because I don't have a fancy home theatre. I don't have a large TV. I don't have a surround sound system. I watch movies on a 27" TV and the sound comes the TV and a plain old desk top stereo. That was just my disclaimer.
Picture Quality
Surprise, surprise, Dragon's Snake Fist is shown in full screen, 1.33:1. It's not too bad, but some dialogue scenes have characters talking that are sometimes half on the screen, or even not on the screen at all. Other than that the print has the usual problems such as scratches, hair and lint. Picture quality isn't nothing to be excited about, but no more worse than usual.
Sound Quality
Read the disclaimer, it all sounded fine to me.
Extras
Yes, there are extras! I was shocked to read that they even had extras on this disc, not a lot, but three trailers is better than most. DG Distributors has put on three trailers for films from the "Kung Fu Collector Series" DVD. There is a trailer for Dragon On Fire (3:18), Kickboxer King (2:29), and the main feature Dragon's Snake Fist (2:57). The trailer for Dragon on Fire is actually for Enter Three Dragons as The Dragon on Fire was an alternate title for that movie or vice versa. I thought it was kinda weird after watching it I was like, "I thought I watched Dragon On Fire, but I didn't recognize any of that!" Well, it all makes sense now...mostly.
Menus/Screens/Other Crap
The cover art is decent and features Dragon Lee busting a mad pose. The back has the movie synopsis and a collage of shots from the movie. The only "con" I have for the artwork is the inclusion of a Bruce Lee picture, but I guess it is a Bruceploitation movie. The main menu features the same artwork as the cover with a short looped music clip playing. The scene access menu is nice with 8 chapters shown with animated chapter icons. At the Trailers menu they actually misspelled the title of the film as Dragon Snake's Fist...OOPSIE!
Overall
In my opinion an above average DVD, for a below average film, such a shame. If you are so inclined you can read my movie review. Though I am glad I bought it and if DG Distributors releases any more martial arts titles, I'd definitely looking into buying them. A word of warning DO NOT buying the Broolyn Zu double feature Dragon Snake Fist/Killer Elephants from Ground Zero. Yes, it does have Dragon Lee on the cover, but they're just trying to rip you off...again. Dragon Snake Fist isn't even the movie on the disc, it's Snake Fist Dynamo. I started watching it and after five minutes I turned it off and then took it back and got my money refunded. I realized it wasn't a Dragon Lee film and after seeing a little kids' penis as he urinated on the floor, I about had enough.
