BRUCE LEE'S JEET KUNG DO

Year: 1995
Starring: Bruce Lee, Brandon Lee, James Coburn, Dan Inosanto
Directed by: Walt Missingham
Running time: 55 minutes

A documentary not on Bruce Lee or his films, but on his martial art Jeet Kune Do. In the opening it goes as far to say it's the only Jeet Kune Do training film. The movie is narrated by Bruce Lee, Brandon Lee and Dan Inosanto. The Bruce Lee stuff is old interviews and training tapes. A couple sections really sounded bad, but then again the tapes are pretty old. The movie is broken into seven chapters.

Chapter 1. In the Beginning
Chapter 2. Towards Personal Freedom
Chapter 3. Punching
Chapter 4. Footwork
Chapter 5. Kicking
Chapter 6. Training
Chapter 7. Think on These Things
Old home movies of Bruce and James Coburn training are used to demonstrate some of the techniques. Bruce narrates overtop of what is incorrect and what needs work. When there isn't any footage of Bruce, Dan Inosanto demonstrates techniques such as punching and footwork. Bradon talks about his dad and his own thoughts about martials art and jeet kune do. Some short behind-the-scenes clips from Rapid Fire are shown.

It was alright, some parts were interesting. It was kinda funny watching James Coburn doing these kicks. He looked gangly and uncoordinated. The fanciest part about the movie was the packaging. It came in a cool looking digipak with shiny gold type writing on it...oohh aahh. If you're interested in martial arts especially Jeet Kune Do or are a Bruce Lee fan then watch this or buy it or something.
