Running time: 96 minutes

As it says on the back of the box, "Chinese Connection II starts where Bruce Lee left off." Now that Chen Chen is dead the Japanese think they can walk all over the Chinese. Miyamoto (Lo Lieh) and his men stroll in and take over the Ching Wu school. After repeated beating and getting branded like cattle the Ching Wu sign the school over to Miyamoto, under duress mind you.

Chen Chen's brother, Chen Shan (Li) shows up. While visting Chen's grave, he is harrassed by some Japanese and quickly hangs an ass kicking on them. After a few more fights and some boring dialogue, the local Inspector asks Shan to leave town or go down to the station. Shan decides to leave for the Japanese will then leave Ching Wu and the other martial arts schools alone. Shan hops on the train out of Shanghai. Since the Japanese are the bad guys they can't be trusted and they set up and ambush on the train. Shan is stabbed and falls off the train, but manages to make it back to the Ching Wu for help.

Miyamoto is all pissed off now and orders that all kung fu schools be shut down. A bunch of Ching Wu students get killed as well as people from the other schools. Shan steps in and starts whupping ass. The end duel between Miyamoto and Shan isn't really that exciting, none of the marital arts in the movie is that good. Shan finishes Miyamoto with the finger of death. After recieving such a severe beating, a disgraced Miyamoto has no choice but to take his own life...wuss.

Now every kung-fu flick has an annoying character and Chinese Connection II isn't any different. Mr. Wong is the interpreter for the Japanese. He is traitor to his people and the thing is the Japanese speak English as do the Chinese, so they don't really need him anyway. I smiled when Wong gots his throat cut by Miaymoto's blade. Too bad it didn't happen until the very end of the movie. There is the saying that sequels are never or rarely better than the originals, and in this case I agree.
