The following was taken from the magazine Fighting Stars, Vol. IV, No. 1 Febuary 1977. I got that date off the inside of the magazine, though on the cover it says Febuary '76.
This mixture of mystery, suspense and the hypothetical may put off some Bruce Lee fans; but on the it could well take off at the boxoffice, and zoom its star, Bruce Li (pronounced the same), to the head of the martial arts film class. It deals with a touchy subject, foul play in the death of Bruce Lee; but the plot unravels with all the suspense of a Hitchcock thriller.
Bruce Li, who plays a kung fu instructor, learns at the outset of his friend's sudden and mysterious death only days after the two had laughed together on the set of Game of Death. He travels to Hong Kong, views the body (stock footage of Bruce Lee's wake), but is dissatisfied with the medical verdict of accidental death.
His suspicions are confirmed when a girl who was present at the death attempts suicide and then disappears from her hospital bed. Li joins forces with a reporter friend and the two set out to answer the inevitable question-was it murder?
The heavies don't take long to show their hand, trying to eliminate Li before his investigation turns up the truth. His kung fu saves him time and time again against impossible odds until he is able to confront the master conspirator in a vicious, man-to-man confrontation of martial skills.
It's no accident that Bruce Li slightly resembles his namesake-in appearance if not in martial skill. Whether fanatics of the original will accept this new actor from Hong Kong remains to be seen; but in view of what the film deals with it's hard to imagine Exit the Dragon, Enter the Tiger playing before empty houses.
Other actors appearing alongside Bruce Li in this Dimension Pictures release are Suzy Yung and Lung Fei. The plot is complicated enough to sustain interest and the action sequences are entertaining since they are choreographed in much the same style as Bruce Lee's own.
