Lo Wei's sequel to Fist of Fury is just like most of his films, boring. The basic plot is Chinese vs Japanese, that's pretty much all there is, but what were you expecting? I can't believe this movie is 118 minutes long, because nothing happens. The story doesn't start to pick up until the very end, but by then it's too late. At least he brings in some actors who worked with Bruce Lee like Nora Miao and Han Ying Chieh, the Boss from The Big Boss. A young Jackie Chan gets star billing, but I was expecting he would get more screen time. He has this dirty looking moustache thing going on too. It's one of those moustaches guys have who can't actually grow a real moustache. You know like those scuzzy guys have in high school that take all the shop classes. You know what I'm talking about. Jackie, shave, please! I you think that's bad, wait until you see Chen Sing get into a fight wearing a diaper.
Jackie spends the first half of the movie being a pickpocket who doesn't want to learn kung fu because it's too much work. That's what I said about learning to tie my shoes, velcro rules!. When he finally sees the light and marches into the Ching Wu school carrying their sign, it flashes pictures of Bruce Lee with Jackie. Wow, how moving. So now the movie is over half over and Jackie is finally learning how to fight. Nora Miao teaches Jackie the secret Ching Wu technique, the Fist of Fury, or as I like to call it, the Blurry Hand technique. Jackie uses this technique for a whole 10 seconds! Why even bother teaching it to him? Most of the fighting doesn't even happen until the very end of movie. Mostly, it's not the exciting, the Japanese girl is pretty bad. But you'll be happy watching the Japanese get killed especially when they run around saying stuff like "I kill Chinese, like I kill dogs!" Also throw in the usual bad dubbing, some scenes they didn't even bother to dub at all. You can see the actors lips moving, but no dialogue. In case you haven't noticed I wasn't impressed with New Fist of Fury, gimme Bruce Le anyday. I'm probably gonna regret saying that. If you manage to get all the way through the movie, you'll be rewarded with a happy ending of everyone getting shot and killed.
