SPIRITS OF BRUCE LEE

Year: 1979
Starring: Michael Chan-Wai Man

Chang Chin Pa who is the supposed Bruce Lee like character in the movie travels to Thailand to find his missing older brother. This movie is really hard to follow as it starts out with some dude getting attacked in the night by a bunch of thugs in the woods. Apparently this guy was carrying jade with him and was killed by a Thai gang. This man happens to be our hero's brother and he won't quit until he finds out what happened to his brother. Chang meets a Chinese family who owns a restaurant in the vicinity of the murder location of his brother. He finds out that his brother was murdered for the jade he was carrying and ultimately discovers the gang that were responsible. He joins up with the restaurant owners daughter who is mighty attractive and an undercover cop to go after the thugs. There are some decent moments in this movie. One of them is this bum who sells pineapples and keeps bugging the undercover cop to sell him pineapples. In actuality the pineapple guy is the chief of police and that's how he communicates with the undercover cop. They plan out a strategy to raid the gangsters hideout and the funny thing at the end is that when the Thai gang are getting beat, two samurai swordsmen come out of nowhere and start attacking our heroes. They even chase Chang Chin Pa up the roof of the house. The fighting is sloppy and the Thai guys are very slow and easy to hit. Overall, it's pretty silly, but enjoyable Bruceploitation experience.
